Word Family -en Activity
I found this picture on www.lucylearns.com then copied and pasted it on Word to make it a little bigger. I used the "text box" to add "__en" on the eggs. That's it; easy peasy!
You could use this Hen instead. It is much nicer, maybe next time.
One of the parents had chicks, so she brought them to share with the class.

How to milk a cow by hand
I found this precious idea on Little Kinder Warriors. I decided on this activity kind of last minute, so I didn't have time to make a cute cow like Katie.
We first watched this youtube video, that explains how to properly milk a cow.
Massaging the udder to make the milk come down
And MILK IT!
here's the link: Melissa-Doug-Farm-Cube-Puzzle;You can buy it on Amazon.
it's a little challenging, but my kids enjoy it, with a little help.

"Measuring like a Farmer"
I found this super creative idea on Mrs Harrells prek blog.
I'm no drawer so I found an outline of a horse on horse-patterns and had my helper trace it. Later I had my students color it.
They each wrote their own name and height.

She received her official "Teacher" ID badge and lanyard, first thing in the morning.
She and I made a playlist on Youtube of her favorite shapes, numbers, letters, and calendar songs. Below are a couple of her favorites.
She led calendar and morning circle and dismissed everyone to wash their hands and line up for snack.
